Gallery Images Links

    Hi all,

    I am trying to add a gallery of images to my homepage and cannot figure out how to work with columns or have each image be a link that directs viewers to another page in my website.

    My first issue with the columns is that I cannot set them to a specific width that would in turn make sure my images stay at the same width. The only solution I have found right now is to create two columns with a gallery block in each and then each gallery image is full bleed. I dislike this solution however, because I would like this to function as one gallery area so that when I add new images it moves everything down the website chronologically.

    As for the link issue, I don’t see a way to have the images in the gallery link to another page on my website. For context, the purpose of my website is to feature a lot of images and want a thumbnail kind of image (although half screen size rather than a tiny picture) on my homescreen that then directs users to a page featuring the rest of the images from that same project. I only see options for ‘media file’ and ‘attachment page’ and neither of these seems very expandable. I need to add a text block and another gallery section on these pages that I want the thumbnail images to direct to.

    Lastly, I see there is an option to add borders to images, but I am running into the issue of these being inconsistent. If I select ‘3px’ around multiple images in my column/gallery the bottom and top of the images don’t overlap so this space is 6px instead of 3px. Does anyone know how I can fix this?I have also tried setting a background color and choosing transparent borders, but that doesn’t fix the issue either. Ideally I would want this to be something done automatically in the uploading process so I don’t have to manually add the border each time I add new images to my gallery.

    Please note I am working with free plan right now as I want to make sure I can do everything I would like before purchasing a paid plan. I appreciate any tips you have.

    And if you can share a picture of what you have in mind, that may be easiest. What you’re describing sounds like it’s been set up in a pattern already, so it may just be a matter of finding one that suits your needs and copying it in.
