Gallery of Photos where photos are linked to published pages

I am trying to create a snazzy gallery of photos on a published page and when you click on a photo in the gallery, it will bring you to the published post rather than the attachment page or media page. Is that possible?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The gallery feature doesn’t have an option to link to a post instead of an attachment page or media file. However, you can create your own gallery by using image links.

To do this, you can insert each image you want to use into a page. For each image, you can link it to the published post. Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

Thank you! That is what I have done, but I cannot get the photos to be next to each other. They only go in a long line down the page. Is there anyway to make them gallery style? Thank you!

If you’d like the images to line up in a row, you can try setting the image alignment to “None.” When you insert them on the page, you can insert them one after the next (without hitting “Enter” to start a new line) and they should line up next to each other. Also, be sure to choose a small enough image size that they will fit on the line together.

If you’d like further help with that, please let me know!

Thank you, I appreciate the help. What I am trying to accomplish is a categories page where people can go and view pictures and titles with links to all my recipes. If I don’t put a title on the pictures, they will go side by side, but then people won’t know what they are clicking on. Do you know how to help me? Or is there no way? Thanks!

I see what you mean. I have a few different ideas for you — hopefully one of them will work out!

    1. You can add captions to each image, with the title in the caption. The caption will then appear along with the image. However, depending on how long the titles are, this may or may not look as nice and clean as the images without captions.

    2. You can use a photo editor on your computer to add the titles to the image themselves. Then you can upload those images and link them to the recipes. That way, the title will be part of the image and won’t interfere with the image layout on the page.

    3. You can consider switching to a theme that will do this kind of layout for you. Some themes, like Mixfolio or Hatch, will create the kind of gallery layout you’re looking for on the blog and category pages automatically. They may take a bit of setting up and customizing to get them to look the way you want, but it’s an alternative to trying to build these pages by hand.

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, none of that is what I am looking for. But, thank you for your time!
