  I want to post my gcast podcast as a widget to my sidebar. I tried to insert it using the TEXT widget, but it won’t work. Please help! I am so excited to use gcast with my blog!

  http://www.gcast.com/ The main site for gcast. You can create a podcast and also create a podcast player that you can embed on your site. Once embedded, you can add podcasts by simply uploading files to gcast, never having to change the code for the player on your site again.

  The code to the podcast that I want to add as a sidebar widget to my blog is

  You cannot embed Flash anywhere on a blog hosted at WordPress.com. If you have a blog using WordPress that is not hosted here, you need to be at WordPress.org.

  I was reading in the forum and you can post youtube videos. You can live stream from Kyte.tv, and you can also embed podcasts. I am a newbie so I have to ask… how is embedding a video or streaming tv different from embedding a gcast? I am not trying to come across as being smart.. I really don’t know the difference. THanks!

  Different, special custom codes. Now please give us a direct link to your blog so we can make sure we’re talking to someone who’s in the right place. We don’t know for sure until we see it.

  You can look through the FAQ for information about embeds etc.

  Okay, yes, you are hosted here. Thanks.

  Only a very few formats are approved here. YouTube is one, Slideshare is another, Podtech is another. They’re in the FAQ under “embeds” if you do a search. You can request that they consider adding gcast, but you might have to wait month or it might never happen. Odeo is allowed, that I know.

  It looks like this can be embedded with vodpod. However, I’m not sure if this works with the sidebar.

  Virtually anything can go in Vodpod in the sidebar. Good thinking!
