geolocation

I have a website called gerslivrer.com constructed using webs.com. This site is trying to help to provide people in confinement, the elderly or otherwise unwell, a free delivery service. The idea of the geolocation is to be able to show graphically to the needy where we have volunteers to help them. I understand this is a simple google app but Webs.com have not programmed it into their group of apps. But I understand that you might have done so. Is this true and can you guarantee to me that it will work and you will help us transfer our site to you asap. Please email me back at (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  • Hi there,

The WordPress software has no geolocation feature built in, and we also don’t offer such a feature on WordPress.com. However, it’s possible to add this using a geolocation plugin on our Business plan, and the WooCommerce ecommerce plugin also comes with this built in:

As for transferring your site, we don’t have an importer for webs.com. If they on their end provide a WordPress-compatible export file, you’ll be able to import it on our end, but if they don’t, the only way to transfer your existing site would be to copy-paste everything manually into new posts and pages on a new WordPress.com site.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
