Getting a previous domain name back

I used to have a blog at a subdomain that was my own name, but I must have deleted it ages ago. Since it’s now an unused subdomain name (the landing page confirms the blog was deleted), I was wondering if I could somehow claim it again for myself and a new blog? I read that subdomains are sometimes recycled a few years after the original blog is gone, but I don’t actually remember how long ago I deleted that old one. Is there anything I can do to claim that dead subdomain again?

Thank you so much! I have access again in my wordpress account. I will be wayyyy more careful about deleting things in the future. Many thanks for the help!
