Getting back the name of a blog I deleted

  I had a blog called dilectusregionem. I deleted it. I would like to use the name again. The system says the name is in use, but I cannot find a blog using it.

  Is it possible to get the name back please?

  The blog url is my current blog. dilectusregionem deals specifically with Southern Africa.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  dilectusregionem.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this site.

  I deleted it. I would like to use the name again

  When you deleted the site, it was mentioned three times during the deletion process that once the site was deleted neither you nor anyone else would be able to use the site address again. So no, it cannot be restored.

  You can either sign up for a new site address with a similar name or purchase the custom domain and domain mapping upgrades to link to any underlying WordPress.com site URL.

  Thanks justjennifer. I recall the warnings. Is this a permanent thing, or does a time limit eventually expire and the name becomes available?

  Surely if we don’t eventually recycle (as is done with domain names), we will end up with very long blog names.

  The multiple warnings that deleting a blog URL is permanent and irreversible provided throughout the deletion process say it all. You can’t recover a deleted blog URL. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  Deleted blog URLs are NOT recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

  It’s permanent. If you need to know the reason in more detail, then please head over to the Support Site http://en.support.wordpress.com/ and search for “delete site”.

  Again, if you purchase a custom domain with mapping, the underlying WordPress.com URL doesn’t matter.

  If I really commit to going with the name, I will go the domain route.
