Why am I getting error ‘The attribute name of [ viewBox ] must be in lowercase’ while adding custom HTML code in footer of my webpage.

  • Hi, could you send a link to the site you’re having trouble with?

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    Hi,

I am unable to host the site on WordPress.com itself. I want to add custom HTML code in footer of my homepage but as soon as I add HTMLcode I get an error “The attribute name of [ viewBox ] must be in lowercase”. If I replace the attribute name ‘viewBox’ with ‘viewbox’ then it works.

Why is it that ‘viewBox’ is not allowed ? camelcase names doesn’t seems to be supported.

  • If your site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, it means you’re using the open source version of WordPress, made by the community over on WordPress.org. In that case, you can ask for advice at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ instead.

SVG code cannot be embedded on WordPress.com sites at all, and we’re not able to advise you on how the open source version of WordPress is designed to treat SVG attributes like viewBox.
