getting new posts added to the appropriate pages

I have been working to update the appearance of my page and added pages to my header, but my posts aren’t getting added to the pages. How can I write a post and get it added to the page so people can browse them on the site?
Also, is it possible to have it on the main page and a category at the same time?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
It sounds like you want to be using Category Pages. Currently it looks like you’re using standard Pages. You can set up Category Pages through Appearance > Menus. On the left, select the Category drop down and select the Categories you want to use as Menu items.
You’ll need the categories to exist already, so if you’re not seeing the Categories you want, head to Posts > Categories and add them. In order for a post to appear on the Category Page, just add the specific Category to that post through the editor.
All of your posts will still appear in your recent posts on your front page, as well as their own Category page.

I selected the categories and it looks like they were added, but the posts don’t appear in their categories yet. Can you see what else I am missing?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you need to make sure your custom menu is set as the Primary Menu. You can do this by the check boxes at the bottom of the menu editor.
Once you do that, your new Category Pages will appear in your menu.
