Getting referral credit with existing account?

  I have recently signed up a new account. Since my friend noticed that, he tried to offer me $25 credit with his referral URL, and which makes me want to upgrade to premium plan.

  However, it seems like referral URL only applies to new sign up, not existing account? Is there any way to use referral program with existing account?

  Hi there,

  I’m not aware of any promotion we have where you can get a discount by using a referral link. We do have a referral program, but that works as an affiliate program, paying out a reward to a referrer if someone buys an upgrade using a referral link. It does not give any discount to the person actually buying the upgrade.

  Can you please share the link your friend gave you here so we can take a look?

  Okay, “Refer a Friend” is a new program we’ve only just launched. I see the same thing as you do when clicking that link, that it’s not applying the discount.

  I’m going to check with the team running this referral program to find out if this is by design or if it might be a bug.

  I’ve heard back from our team, and the referral link discount only applies to new sites created in new accounts. So if you want to use it, you’ll have to log out of your account first, and then create a new account via the referral link.

  You could always transfer ownership of the site over to your corruptcurry account once it’s created – doing that will also transfer over the plan you added to it.
