Getting Rid of Built in Widgets

  I’m using the Grisaille theme and would like to get rid of the Search, Bookmarks, Categories, Archives, and Meta widgets that are built into its sidebar. I tried dragging these mentioned widgets into the “Inactive Widgets” section and saving them but it didn’t change the site. SOS.

  All your need to do is:
  (1) to eliminate all widgets use an empty text widget, click to open, enter nothing, click save and click close
  (2) or choose to install the widgets you want in order to override the default sidebar display which doesn’t contain actual widgets.
