    Hi!
I’ve recently noticed that a bunch of non-wordpress ads are showing up on my blog. I am trying to figure out how to remove them, but nothing at the moment seems to work. I’m hoping someone could give me some pointers on how to do this? thanks so much!

wordpress.com puts ads on wordpress.com websites on the Free Plan to keep the Free Plan for free. If you don’t want those ads, you must upgrade to a paid plan.

  • Hi there,

What do you mean by “non-wordpress ads”? Do you mean ads advertising other products and services besides WordPress.com? If so, that is normal.

We use several different ad networks to display ads on free sites, and the ads they display depend on factors like the location and browser history of the person viewing your site. If you see WordPress.com/Automattic ads, it usually means no other advertisers are bidding on ad space on your site at that time, so we show our own ads to prevent the ad slots from just appearing blank on your site.

You can remove these ads by upgrading to any of our paid plans.
