Getting started. Can't save my profile as the button is clouded out!

    Have an account i can sign into but NOTHING works.
    I write a profile but can;t save it as the button is not active.
    I have to dump what I have written to try to get help.
    Tried on and off for months, think maybe its just a bad site.
    Use Google to find forums but NONE give the basics.

    Don’t have a site to give the url of!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    That is the point, I can’t get past entering my profile to get to even think about using anything.

    I just want to write a blog not become a programmer!

    I have built computers from bags of components, can program in basic but soon got to be interested in the good part, using them as a tool not be entertained by playing with them.
    Never yet found an intuitive site, always fifty ways of doing everything why they crash so much.

    So can you explain why the ‘save’ button is clouded out so not switched on under my profile section in my user account?

    Perhaps you have a browser related issue.

    Dell Latitude D430 with 3GB ram of which it can only use 2.5GB

    Running Win7 with IE11. Both updated and secured with Win defender which is fully updated.
    Have Win10 as a dual boot to just get the free download before that ends and they dish support of 7 like they did XP. 10 is like Crome, vastly intrusive and cumbersome, masses of setting up and tinkering, it may seem better on a touch screen but you can’t beat using a mouse with your left hand, keypad right. Autocad or Excel and you can wiz that data in.
    My browser automatically clears all saved files, data every time it’s switched off, probably several times a day. I don’t save ANY webpages, passwords, personal data, cookies, it clears everything when shut down.

    I browse a lot, if a site says IE is no good then the site is that as I do use many sites repeatedly with no problems.
    Google Crome is vastly intrusive, needs to know you daily bodily functions! I keep anything Google under armed guard but you can’t beat their search engine for general searches, just a pity they now own YouTube as they are spoiling that.
    Opera is awkward to use for me.
    Firefox, never got past set up before I trashed it.

    Not found ANYTHING related to starting your account on WordPress help that helps me on this.

    I find it strange that all these forums exist, users get together to sort out the makers problems and done it for so long the makers think we SHOULD fix THEIR bad programing as that is what it is.
    How would you all feel about a car with no guarrantee, you have to get with a neighbour to fix a design fault?

    Hi again timethief.

    I just went onto my account page again, my display name had appeared in the box and as I entered ‘About Me’ again the clouded out saved box lit up.

    No idea why or what happened at all.
    Perhaps some geek working out back saw my question and felt guilty!!!!!

    I just went onto my account page again, my display name had appeared in the box and as I entered ‘About Me’ again the clouded out saved box lit up.

    It sounds like you are able to edit your profile information now, is that correct?

    If you are still having problems, let me know and I’ll take a look.
