Gif being clipped
-
Hi, I’ve been trying to upload a simple, 7 frame animatd gif as my custom logo for ages, and every time I upload it, it crops the image slightly on a couple of the frames. I’ve made the gif size smaller and smaller but nothing seems to work. I’ve uploaded it to other sites to make sure it isn’t saving like that and can confirm that it’s only when i upload to wordpress that the gif becomes clipped. My wordpress is aniekandya.wordpress.com and I’m building this website as part of a Uni assignment so would greatly appreciate the help in fixing this problem. Here is a separate link to the gif I want to use, uploaded onto giphy, so you can see how simple it is: https://media.giphy.com/media/8FVrhrZaF84A8juhNj/source.gif
Thanks so much!

Hi there,
GIFs only work on WordPress.com if they appear on your site at the exact same size that you upload it. If the GIF is resized when your site loads it, it won’t work. And it looks like that’s what’s going on here.
The image you currently have set as logo is 378px high, while your site’s logo can only display at a maximum of 150px high, so we need to resize the GIF.
The other GIFs you have uploaded are all also over 150px, except for https://aniekandya.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=62&action=edit and https://aniekandya.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=61&action=edit which are under 150px, and which does not show the cropping issue.
