Gmail subscription function suddenly not working
-
Why is the notification function not linking to my blog’s gmail account? It has been working perfectly for almost 2 years but now new subscribers are not able to join.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi thegreatwomanblog,
Our system shows notifications are being successfully sent to the email address on your Account Settings page. If these emails aren’t coming through, please check your spam folder (or ask those people to) in case they have gone there.

Hi there, I have checked and they are not going to spam. I also checked with gmail and they seemed to feel it was a WordPress issue.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks!

I do see some emails from about 3 weeks ago that bounced back when we tried to deliver them to your gmail account. Did you make any changes to your configuration or settings here or at gmail around that time? Everything I see more recently though, shows as being delivered with no bounces.

Thanks! I know people are trying to subscribe and nothing is happening. I deleted the email subscribe plugin and put it in again and still no emails from the wordpress site. I feel like I need to upgrade to get this resolved.

When you say “plugin”, do you mean the Follow Blog widget on thegreatwomanblog.wordpress.com?
I know people are trying to subscribe and nothing is happening.
It sounds like there are two mains issues:
- You are not receiving notifications at the email address on your Account Settings page.
- Other people are not receiving email notifications after signing up via the Follow Blog widget in the sidebar.
If the second point is correct, would you be able to send us a couple of email addresses that haven’t been receiving emails? You can type them as normal and they will be redacted from public view but I’ll be able to see them. That may give us some clues as to what could be happening.
