GoDaddy Hosting – No Options?
-
Hello,
I’ve recently taken over as the media person for my community theatre group. Our website is hosted by GoDaddy and powered by WordPress. I dearly want to give it a much-needed update but when I log in, it’s only a very basic version of WordPress. I don’t even have access to an ‘Appearance’ tab. The only options I have are: ‘Dashboard,’ ‘posts,’ ‘media,’ ‘links,’ ‘pages,’ ‘comments,’ profile’ and ‘tools.’
Is this just an issue with hosting the site on GoDaddy? Is there a way for me to add things like appearance or plugins, etc.?
If absolutely necessary I can mess with the html but it will take time and I’d really like to get our website looking better than it has been… -
Hi –
Can you share the site URL?
Since the site is hosted with GoDaddy that means you are actually set up on the other version of WordPress. The site is using the open source WordPress.org software – and help for that comes from https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
It’s very different from our managed hosting environment that we offer here at WordPress.com.
