going from wordpress.com to a wordpress 3.0 blog

  I recently purchased another blog and domain which I planned to turn into a wordpress 3.0 blog. I have purchased hosting from hostgator and am now trying to install wordpress 3.0 to that site. when I follow the steps or have the cpanel do it I am just sent back to the wordpress.com version of the blog.

  Any help or direction?

  We can’t help you except with blogs hosted at WordPress.com. You need to be at WordPress.ORG for help.

  Thank you. I purchased a domain from wordpress.com and had it link to my blog. How do I unlink it?

  Basically you need to change your nameservers to the ones your new hosting provider will give you. If you purchased the domain name through WordPress.com, here’s how to do it:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-name-servers
