Going from wordpress.com to wordpress.org

I am in the process of switching my previous blog (rytimegeekcast.com) on wordpress.com over to a wordpress.org website using godaddy as my hosting service and when I had my worpress.com blog it had a redirect/forwarding from the domain rytimegeekcast.com to my wordpress.com blog. I have since deleted my wordpress.com site as I am moving everything over but I noticed that when I type rytimegeekcast.com into my web browser, it still redirects to rytimegeekcast.wordpress.com which is the wordpress.com blog that I deleted. Is there any way to change this or get it resolved so that it no longer forwards/redirects to the site that doesn’t exist anymore?

*In the field below where it asks for my blog URL, it is only letting me select the URL for a different site I have on worpress.org, not the one I am inquiring about.
    Blog url: http://circlejerkspod.com/

  • http://rytimegeekcast.com/ appears to be properly directing away from us.

It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.

I’ve completely transferred my domain rytimegeekcast.com to a different domain host and it is still redirecting automatically redirecting to rytimegeekcast.wordpress.com which is a wordpress.com page that says “the authors have deleted this blog”. It has been over a week and it is still doing this.

  • http://rytimegeekcast.com/ is definitely directing to a blog hosted elsewhere.

Try clearing your local resolver cache: http://www.opendns.com/support/article/68

I figured it out! Firefox was redirecting me to that page for some reason and when I cleared my history, including cookies and things the problem was fixed. Thanks for all your help, macmanx!
