Goodreads widget issue

    I’m not a Goodreads author, so there is no concern about there being a different number code, and yet I can’t seem to get the Goodreads widget to link to my Goodreads account.

    Thanks for responding.

    No, I’m not an author on Goodreads, as mentioned in my original post.

    I was logged in when I tried adding it, and I’ve just logged out now to double check, even though I do NOT have an author page, but it still gives me the same number… the number which the goodreads widget says is “invalid”.

    The error I get is this:
    Invalid User ID, please verify and re-enter your Goodreads numeric user ID.

    I don’t understand how that’s possible, as this is my Goodreads profile:

    Thanks for that additional information. Last week I saw a couple other threads where folks were having the same issue. I’ve added your case to our internal report. Once we have more information you’ll be updated here.

    @bookishfiggy one thing we’re trying to find out: if you remove the widget completely, publish your changes, then log into Goodreads and then try adding the widget again, does it work?

    No luck, Supernovia.

    I tried logging out of both WordPress and Goodreads (after removing the widget) before logging back in, just to be safe, and it still doesn’t work.

    When entering the number into the box and then clicking off the box or hitting enter or just hitting publish, the number appears in the box while the little “processing” circle is doing its thing, and then the number disappears, regardless of what I do.

    Hi, just want to say that I’m having this issue too.
    I don’t have a goodreads author account.
    Every time I try to enter the numbers, it loads then disappears.
    I also get the “Invalid user ID.”

Then we can fist try a few troubleshooting steps with you there to confirm if it’s the same issue. Also include a link to this thread when you create your own.
