google apps site verification and google analytics

  I need my email (email visible only to moderators and staff) to work. Can’t get google apps site verification and google analytics to work. Searched forever. Saw a video where someone went to appearances and had an edit option. Thinking that may be part of the css upgrade? Tried these forums for hours over a two day period. Kind of at a loss. It tells me to do things I have know idea how to do. Please help. This is all new to me. So It is like a new, exciting language that I do not yet understand ;)
  I will want to customize. I saw there are tutorials. Do I need the customization upgrade to do this or are there other ways? Is that a dumb question? I don’t even know. :) Thanks

  Google Analytics can’t be added here, but we do offer our own stats via the Site Stats section of your blog’s Dashboard.

  As for Google Apps, you can set that up following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/
