google site verification fails on https but works for http
-
I have verified my site ownership on google using http by adding the TXT record, but when i try to do the same for https it fails.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Reverification failed. Your verification DNS TXT record was not found. You might need to wait a few minutes before Google sees your changes to the TXT records
.
I have updated the SEO meta name tag with the string provided by google and it has been many days. Perhaps the meta tags are not getting updated form the original one I entered to verify the http site?

It sounds like the results are just stuck on their end. Maybe try this method instead for now:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#google-search-consoleAlso, no need to re-add a modlook tag when you’re working with staff. Cheers :)

Sorry about thought, thought the modlook was required.
the
Google Search Consoleinstruction you provided is the exact procedure i followed. It worked for http but fails on https. They provided two separate strings for each protocol, so seems like its not updating on the wordpress end. Thanks for the asistance!

To clarify, you will need to follow either these steps:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#google-search-consoleor these:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/verifying-your-domain-with-google/I double checked your meta tag and it was missing some parts, so maybe try giving Google a few hours to update, then verifying again.
