Google Video embed code not accepted on WordPress.com blogs?
-
I have a published post that I want to edit, in order to embed a Google Video video in it. The code Google Video provides is the following:
<embed id=”VideoPlayback” src=”http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docid=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx&hl=en&fs=true” style=”width:400px;height:326px” allowFullScreen=”true” allowScriptAccess=”always” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash”> </embed>
I pasted it in the middle of the post but previewing or publishing the modified post results in a post that is exactly like the old one, namely no video appears to be embedded.
I cleared the browser cache, used at least 3 different browsers, cleared the cookies – did everything I could, to no avail.
I even enclosed the code to embed in a <div></div> tag. If I update the post like this, of course, no video appears, but when I edit it again, only the enclosing div tags are present, the embed code disappears like magic. Does WordPress not allow embedding Google Video videos?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No embeds can be used on a wordpress.com blog. Follow this procedure instead to put a Google video in your post:

This is beyond retarded. I actually spent more time figuring it out using those instructions, because they’re a little bit outdated. What’s wrong with just pasting the code the video sharing site provides, people?
Thanks anyway for the help.
