Gravatar confirmation email loop

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi!

Pretty sure I don’t need to describe the problem, I see that people have been having it for years, but still. When I try to change my profile picture, either from WordPress’s profile page or directly from gravatar.com, I’m taken to a Gravatar page that says I’ve been sent a confirmation email and should click the enclosed link. The email never comes; and I do check the spam folder.

I’ve tried resending a confirmation email through the WP help page and clicking the link in that one. I’ve tried several browsers with cache and cookies cleared. I’ve tried keeping some cache / cookies from either WP or Gravatar in every conceivable combination. I could go on, really :), I’ve tried a whole bunch of stuff that technically could make sense. And it’s not the first time I try, too, it’s just that this time the particular website that uses Gravatar doesn’t have any other profile pic options.

As far as I understand, there’s some support magic that can solve this? Please–please help me, practically at my wit’s end here.

And thank you for your assistance!

  • Hi there,

In this case the problem is that you never verified your account when you first created it. So by this time the confirmation link is no longer valid, even if you send a new confirmation email, as the link itself doesn’t change.

I’ve sent you a new email we can use to manually confirm your account. Please reply there and I can get this sorted out for you.
