Greyed Out WordPress Site URL

    So I have this WordPress installed website and I am trying to workaround by connecting certain plugins for email management but the WordPress Site URL specifies that my website address is //www.example.com rather than https://www.example.com and that just stops me from doing a lot of things because a WebURL would never start with //

    I tried to change the entry in wp-config.php file and yet still the field remains un-editable and starts with // rather than http:// or https://.

    Is it just me or has anybody else got this issue?
