Guided Transfer

  Hi just a few questions on the guided transfer

  Want to transfer but not go live with the site until changes have been made to the new template etc – is this possible – i.e. can we transfer the site but not the name server until we have tweaked the new site then change the name servers etc..

  Will it bring over drafts as well as published posts?

  Can we use our own hosting?

  do we keep all the existing followers?

  http://www.pablodesign.co.uk/ is not hosted by WordPress.COM. The guided transfer is for only blogs hosted by WordPress.COM that are being moved into WordPress.ORG self hosted sites.

  Hi Yes sorry – I’m aware of that I just had to buy a url in the form – and the actual blog I need the transfer for wasn’t in the drop down as it’s not one of mine – the url is http://www.sandradanby.com

  Sure thing! If you’d prefer to wait to point your domain to the new site, you can let our transfer team know after you purchase the Guided Transfer. You’re welcome to wait and do that yourself instead of having our transfer team do it the day of your transfer.

  Yes, the entire contents of your site will be transferred over to the self-hosted site, including drafts.

  Can we use our own hosting?

  For the Guided Transfer, you’ll need to use one of our recommended hosts. We aren’t able to perform guided transfers to other hosts.

  do we keep all the existing followers?

  Yes, our transfer team moves all of your WordPress.com and email followers over to the new self-hosted site as part of the transfer process.
