Guided Transfer vs. Bluehost Transfer

    Hello,

    Different question although still related to Guided Transfers. Guided Transfers are $129.00. Bluehost offers to transfer websites for $99.00. Besides the two-weeks of support after the transfer, is there any difference in the transfer services? I understand you work for WordPress, not Bluehost but wanted to know about the additional value in paying an extra $30.00 Is the two weeks of support the only difference or are Guided Transfers faster (Bluehost gave a window of 3-5 days)? Are there any differences in the appearance, themes or plug-ins? Thanks,

    Hi Elliott,

    As I understand it, the Bluehost transfer is for transferring from one self-hosted site to another, rather than for moving from WordPress.com to a self-hosted site. If they do offer a transfer from WordPress.com to Bluehost, it’s most likely just an Export of your WordPress.com site’s content, rather than fully moving the site (including the theme and other aspects of your site’s appearance) as we do in our Guided Transfer.

    However, if you want to be sure, I’d recommend getting in touch with Bluehost to confirm what’s included in their service so you can do a full comparison.
