Hacked account

  A public message has showed up on my blog FROM my own ID “recoverysense” as of April 11 2022 and I DID NOT post it. Please advise, what is this? What harm has it gone? How did they do this? What do I need to do? Also thank you !!!!

  Hi there,

  I found the post you’re referring to, and it looks like a spam email. So, I checked your site and found that you have the Post by Email feature turned on.

  What happened is that someone found that email address, and they sent a spam message that was automatically posted on your site.

  To fix that, you can simply turn that feature off by going to your My Blogs page (https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs) and clicking on the Disable button on the Post by Email column next to your site.

  So, as you understand, your site wasn’t hacked, and your account is still secured.
