Has anyone ever actually connected with a person?

    Hi! I’m hopelessly awful at even basic web site stuff. I went to “add page,” so that I could add a new page to the site. Typed in some text and some links. Went to publish.
    It’s not there.

    That’s happened four times. I finally paid a lot more $$ so I could get human support and…. no “happiness engineer” was available. I was just stuck in an empty chat. Happened again. Some vague promise about reaching out by email, but there’s no email either.
    Does the site employ actual humans?

    Hi there, first of all, yes, there are humans on live chat and it can happen that it takes longer for support to reply. If they’re unable to respond within a short time, they should get back to you by email to the email address listed on your account. So make sure that email address is up to date. https://wordpress.com/me/account If it is, check all your inboxes and spam as well.

    About “went to publish and it’s not there” do you mean that the page doesn’t appear on the site? It doesn’t appear in the Pages dashboard?
