has my web site gone for good?

    I had a wordpress site made for me a few years ago which was being hosted by the web site guy. I missed his one email to me about renewing my hosting so it has now gone……….I wanted this site and would like to get it back up but I am being told by him that it is ‘gone’ and i would have to start again. Is this correct? Is there no way to get back a web site?? I own the domain name Any help much appreciated

    Hi there,

    Web hosting with WordPress.com is free, so I don’t believe the site you are referring to is a WordPress.com site. It sounds like a self-hosted WordPress.org site. You will either talk to the guy in charge of your hosting or contact the hosting provider yourself and see if there is anyway to restore your site.
