Having Trouble Presenting Images Well

    Hi All,

I am a relative newbie, though i have very much enjoyed using the forums for help. My blog is http://www.minocapossela.wordpress.com.

I am really struggling to figure out how to place pictures neatly into my blog. Simple things like alignment, spacing between them, and relative sizes all seem to take me forever, and then i eventually get to a point where i can’t make the changes that I want (for instance some photos appear rigt next to each other, or one is inserted into the caption of another.

I have tried to read all the forum and “how-to” advice but still wonder if i am missing some simple tricks.

    Many thanks!

Arranging images is easy only as long as you restrict yourself to simple combinations, such as one image between two paragraphs of text (set image alignment to none or center) or one image with much text wrapping around it and continuing below it (set image alignment to left or right). For anything fancier than that, you need to get accustomed to html coding for tables.

Spacing can be changed by clicking on the images (in the visual editor), clicking the mountain icon that shows up, and setting numbers for horizontal and/or vertical space.

One image inserted into the caption of another can happen when you try to insert an image while your cursor is at the wrong point, i.e. still inside the code of the other image. When inserting an image after another one in the visual editor, better make sure the cursor is at the start of a new paragraph.

I can’t tell what issues you may be having with “relative sizes”: perhaps you need to explain in more detail.
