Header Problems

    I am revising a site that was done two years ago. But I am stuck on the header. It appears there may be three different overlays here. The most serious problem is that I cannot remove them. As a result, the photo I am using is very shaded and I cannot resize it. And I cannot remove it. If I start a new page the header is already embedded in it, dark and too big. I tried a new theme but it shows up there too.
    I know this is been a problem for other people but I have not found any answers on the forum that work.

    Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We cannot help with this in the WordPress.com forums.
