  Are there step-by-step instructions on how to create a slideshow in the Header? See this website for an example: http://www.affinitysearch.com/

  The best way to do this is to use a theme that has a post slider functionality build in: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider/ or take a look at http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshow on how to embed a slideshow in your post or page.

  Generally the header can only consist out of one image unless you are using a theme that allows otherwise. Let me know if you have any other questions.
