I had a blog with you at this address not even a year ago. I last updated in fall of 2014. Because I have been dealing with multiple deaths in my and my husband’s family, our wedding, and international travel, I have been unable to look in to my blog until today. And was horrified to find that my blog no longer exists? I never received any notification. I had at least two posts waiting in drafts to be published. and had several pages and at least 7 published blog posts. If I had known anything was going on I would have at least saved the blog postings into my computer and home cloud.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the wordpress.COM hosted site you refer to please?
And, exactly which wordpress.COM username account registered that site?
This is wordpress.COM support. I’m asking because we cannot accurately answer questions posted here until we have confirmed the URL referred to and verified the hosting.
We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. That support is found at http://wordpress.ORG/support/
Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.me/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. -

We cannot help unless or until your answer me and provide the relevant information.

re: getting started
Your detailed theme description page is at https://wordpress.com/themes/twentysixteen and that’s where set up instructions for it are found. The live demo site is at https://twentysixteendemo.wordpress.com/
You must be logged in under the username account that registered the site first. Make sure you are running an updated browser version found at http://browsehappy.com or upgrade, please.
The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with your actual blog’s name in that URL.
If the log-in information is lost you need to visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Every theme has a detailed theme description page with set up instructions like this one https://wordpress.com/themes/twentysixteen/ and a live demo site like this one https://twentysixteendemo.wordpress.com/

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.
A blog is a website. The difference between blog and website is simply structure and semantics.
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one-way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

https://en.support.wordpress.com/five-step-blog-setup/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/five-step-website-setup/Switching themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.
If you require information on upgrading and wp plans see here https://wordpress.com/pricing/ please.

Also why when I was trying to log on would the system not recognize the email address as one that existed in the system?

I was able to click your username the first time I answered you and instantly connect to http://complexitythinkinganddevelopment.wordpress.com/ I could also click that same link in the original post and immediately connect to the site.
Maybe you just experienced a glitch of some kind.
re: locating your draft content
The Admin login link for that site is
http://complexitythinkinganddevelopment.wordpress.com//wp-admin
The saved draft posts are found at
http://complexitythinkinganddevelopment.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft&post_type=postThe saved draft pages are found at
http://complexitythinkinganddevelopment.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft&post_type=pageStaff are working on improving post and page revisions. The most recent 25 revisions are available for posts and pages.
If you cannot restore from your browser, or locate a revision, or restore from Trash then the content has been lost and cannot be recovered.
re: recovering a lost post or page
Please go to https://wordpress.com/post with the same browser and see if it offers to restore a post. If a restore button appears, that means a local copy was saved in your browser and you may be able to recover it.If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Pages > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needed.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/page-revisions/See also if applicable > restoring from trash http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash
I recommend:
1. Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > Add New and pages at Dashboard > Pages > Add New
If you have cookies enabled on your browser your preference will be saved unless or until your clear your cookies, and it will take you to the classic editor automatically every time you create a new post via the drop-down menu in the black admin bar or edit a post via the edit button on the blog itself.2. Immediately after creating a post and entering a title click the save draft link. Thereafter, “click save draft” frequently.
3. Always allow pages to fully load before clicking any other links.
4. Never leave a post or page open for content creation or editing and walk away from it, or open another tab in the same blog and work on something else while it is still open. Save it properly and return to edit it later.
5. Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/
If you were using the app you could report that here https://apps.wordpress.org/support/

Ok the above copy and pasted response doesn’t help me. I click on the link I gave you above and I am given the viewing site for my site: http://www.complexitythinkinganddevelopment.wordpress.com. I am able to read my posts and click on my other pages and read them (though I don’t see the videos I had connected) but when I click on ‘My Site’ it says there are not any blog posts and I have no pages, so I am unable to edit any of my previous posts.
-
when you click my ID and the link I gave you get taken to two different looking pages. The one I get from my Username takes me to a “First Blog Post” when I click on this particular copy and pasted link: https://complexthinkinganddevelopment.wordpress.com/ I get taken to my old site.
