  Hi there, before you can purchase a custom .com address for your WPcom site, you need to first register a free WPcom site. https://wordpress.com/start/

  As a part of site registration you’ll be given the option to purchase an upgrade plan which includes a custom domain of your choice for the first year. At the second and following years, you’ll pay for your plan and your domain renewal separately.
