  I already have a domain name. it wont let me past step 3 of setting up a website with out picking one of your url?

  Hi there,

  If you already have a domain, you can select the option on that step to use a domain you already own, and that will take you to the screen to choose to either map the domain, or transfer it to us.

  

  Note that either option will require that you upgrade to a paid plan, though:

  Domains

  A free WordPress.com address will still be created for your site regardless, as a WordPress.com site cannot exist without that, and that’s what ensures your site remains hosted on our servers and online even if you let your domain/upgrades expire. As long as you have a paid domain upgrade active that free address will never be visible to your site visitors, though.
