As a complete novice to all of this. I’m unclear as to how this has happened. I logged in as a free user to take a look at WordPress as I am wanting to start my blogging journey.
I already have a domain name http://www.gracefuldimensions.com purchased via name cheap so I’m not sure how this has become a WordPress.com.
Will this be a problem? And confusing to use

http://www.gracefuldimensions.com and gracefuldimensions.wordpress.com are 2 completely different websites. gracefuldimensions.com is on Name Cheap as gracefuldimensions.wordpress.com is a free site you created a few hours ago.
If you didn’t buy hosting from Name Cheap – https://www.namecheap.com/wordpress/ -, you can connect your domain to gracefuldimensions.wordpress.com by buying a paid plan – https://wordpress.com/pricing/ – together with domain connection – https://wordpress.com/support/domain-connection-vs-domain-transfer/#connecting-a-domain.
