Help either accessing or making an account private
-
I am the director of a free medical clinic in Pittsburgh. One of our previous staff created our WordPress web site as a free option (no payment transaction history). Unfortunately, I cannot access the account – I only have the Username and a password that seems to be old, so the account is locked. This was created so long ago that I do not have any identifying information to get into the account as per your procedures, but it has significantly erroneous information on it (we have moved locations and phone numbers, etc. since this was built), so it is very problematic for community members looking for care. Please advise how I can prove who I am to either access our account/web page, or we will need the account/page set to private please.

Given that this involves a free medical clinic and the outdated contact info is actively disrupting community care, your fastest and most effective route is to bypass standard account recovery and file a formal Privacy Takedown / Content Grievance Request. Because you are the Director, WordPress.com can manually intervene if you provide official, non-technical proof of identity. Go to the WordPress.com Privacy Portal and submit a request stating that the site contains unauthorized, outdated corporate identity details that misdirect patients. You can upload your official clinic letterhead, proof of your position as Director, or your registration documentation. While they may not hand over the login credentials without a strict audit trail, their legal and safety teams are usually very quick to set the site to Private or delete it entirely once an official representative verifies that the public information is causing a community health or safety issue.
