Help for Transfering Premium WordPress to Go Daddy hosted wordpress

I purchased the Premium 1 year wordpress.com package for my blog, read the terms and conditions but somehow I missed the part about how I can’t use adwords or affiliates to monetize my blog (I’m sure I’m not the first one this has happened to and I wish your T and C actually mentioned advertising rather than “third party”). Anyhow, now I have paid the $99 for one year and it’s too late for a refund based on the 30 day policy. So I’m thinking of switching to the WordPress hosting by Go Daddy which I understand will allow me to use Google adwords, etc.
I realize I’m going to have to pay twice now unless you have a better suggestion. I think I can figure out how to transfer the content but having just started blogging and now running into this glitch, I’m pretty freaked out and frustrated.
I did like how wordpress.com worked for just-for-fun blogging but not going to work for me since I want to make some money off this project and I’m not likely to have enough traffic on my site for WordAds for a while.
    Please help?

  • Hi there, I’ve issued a $73 refund for the WordPress.com Premium package, minus $26 for your private domain.

Once your new self-hosted site is set up, you can change the name servers on your domain to point to your new host.

Best of luck, and just let usknow if you need anything else.

Hi and thanks very much! That makes me happier for sure. I really liked how wordpress.com worked so it’s too bad there’s no advertising option for newbies.
