Help giving blog posting to friends

Hi…i am very new to this sight and blogging. I have just posted my first blog. I want to be able to share it with my friends so they know it is here. How can I email them the posting? Or can I ? I added some emails to the area where you can let people know there is a new listing but I know it didn’t go through to my husbands.
Can anyone lead me to the right place?
Can I notify people that my blog is post?

http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/Other than that, there is the good old method of simply sending a link to your blog (or to the specific post, for example http://courtneylondon.wordpress.com/2011/08/05/love-from-london-pt-2/ )
