Help needed: Error code: ssl_error_inappropriate_fallback_alert
-
Hi I am hoping I can get help with my self hosted wordpress blog. It was working perfectly up until 3 days ago. All of a sudden I get this error message:
An error occurred during a connection to maicurls.wordpress.com. The server rejected the handshake because the client downgraded to a lower TLS version than the server supports. (Error code: ssl_error_inappropriate_fallback_alert).
I am using Google Chrome. Windows 8 x64bit operating system. I really need help please :D
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble. However, your site is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation and support sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at http://codex.wordpress.org/ and http://wordpress.org/support/

Rootjsh funny story. I posted my question in the other forum and got told:
You’ll need to ask on the WordPress.COM forums here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/
These forums are for self-hosted WordPress.ORG sites – not the same but often confusing. -
Hrm….
Well, perhaps there was some confusion on one of our ends. You asked about a self hosted site, but then mention https://maicurls.wordpress.com/.
Is https://maicurls.wordpress.com/ the site you are having trouble sith?

Rootjosh I think I myself am confused lol. I have “sort of” fixed it. I had to uncheck a few Internet settings which kind of helped it…it takes me a few tries and clicks to log on but I manage at some point. I don’t know what exactly is wrong but “kind of working” is better than not working at all. :)

Okay. Well good to hear.
Feel free to post again if you are having trouble with a WordPress.com site in the future.
