HELP! Site offline, update fails

  Hi! My site is down and when I log into the admin panel, it prompts me to update the WordPress core to version 5.6.1. When I do this, I get a message saying ‘An error occurred while updating WordPress on xxx’.

  What can I do?

  Tried doing a manual update, but it requires something called the FTP, which I don’t know what it is, so better not try that.

  I tried disconnecting JetPack as the troubleshooting on wordpress.com suggested, and now my website is totally gone.

  Please help.
