  I’ve logged in to wordpress but my dashboard tells me I haven’t got any sites yet. Aaaargh. I have a very active author website that is where I advertise all my books and workshops and a dormant blog – what’s going on???

  The answer is very simple: you are logged in to the wrong wordpress.com account. Log out from current author630867059 and log in again to the account owning that site.

  If you don’t have a clue, you can use the transaction ID at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form to restore access to your ‘lost’ account.
