Help with blocked account – accessing or requesting privitization
-
I no longer have access to the email I used to set up this site several years ago, so I cannot access my activation url/key, and I did not have two factor authentication or use a paid subscription, so unfortunately I cannot complete proof of ownership. I can provide the email, username, and password, and I am also pictured on the site, so possibly can confirm identity with ID if required. I intended to archive or take the site down as I no longer would like to have it accessible, but if I am not able to regain access to it, I would like to request it be made private or request its deletion. Let me know what is possible, thank you!

Since you’re on a free .wordpress.com plan without 2FA or recent billing records, your best path forward is the official Account Recovery Form. Even without email access, WordPress.com allows you to prove ownership by providing specific details like the original registration date, the IP address used to create the site, or specific contents only the owner would know. If that doesn’t work, you can submit a Privacy Takedown Request specifically citing that the site contains your personal images and sensitive information. While the staff generally won’t delete sites for third parties, they can often set a site to ‘Private’ or remove it if you can verify your identity through a photo ID that matches the person pictured on the blog. I’d recommend starting the recovery process here [https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/] and selecting ‘I lost access to my email’ to get the manual review started!
