Help with domain

Today I cancelled my domain with wordpress. I was within the 96 hours so it should be cancelled immediately. I’m trying to setup my site / domain with a different provider and it’s now saying my domain is unavailable.
When can I expect this domain to be released so I can go ahead and set it up with the other company?
Also there’s no chance it’s been taken by another person so no need to send me information regarding that!

Hi there! Welcome to the forums for free sites hosted here on WordPress.com; it’s likely that you were directed here as you had cancelled/refunded your purchases prior to sending the message, so your site is technically a free site at this time.
Since you cancelled your domain within 96 hours of registering it, that means it’s undergoing the 5 days’ window we have in which we can restore it, as mentioned in the guide:
https://wordpress.com/support/domains/cancel-refund-a-domain/After that 5-day period is over, it’ll move to pending deletion, but we don’t have control of when it’d be released to be registered again; as the process is subject to the rules of ICANN (https://icann.org – the authority for domain names).
If you’d like what we can do is send you a request for the domain registration fee alone, and restore the domain as it’s still within that 5-day window; then you can first change your domain name servers to point to your preferred provider, and then once the domain is more than 60 days old, you can transfer it to them as well. Let us know if you’d like us to do that as soon as possible so we can get the process going!
