Help with duplicate URLs

    Hi,

We’re having real issues with wordpress creating multiple versions of one page and adding a number ‘/3’ for example to the end of the page and causing issues.

Is there any way you can help us to solve this issue? It’s killing our organic rankings.

This usually happens when you have made several versions op a page by e.g. duplicating it.
As long as the previous versions are set as concept or are in the trash, wordpress.com automatically puts a number behind the URL.
The solution is to complete remove all previous pages.

    Hi,

These pages weren’t in the trash, I think the issues was being caused due to an elementor widget. We had a sidebar offering our services which was pulling all pages in a certain taxonomy through, including the current page, and so I think it was automatically adding the “/2”.

The question now is will those URLs need to be redirected?

    Thanks

If that’s the case you must contact Elementor support as we can’t help with third party plugins and sites that ain’t running on the wordpress.com platform.
