Help with Edin Theme
-
I am using Edin theme and it said I could choose the GRID format but I can not figure out how to get to the grid format. I want a static grid front page that when you click on a grid it leads to a page of posts.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have turned on the grid format for your “about” page. Which is the one you have set as your front page.
-
Thank you – how did you do it?
Now – how do I get the grids up there? I have tried creating pages – I thought those would be the grids. I have tried creating portfolios, but nothing is showing up.
I want six grids: Education, Health, Inequality, Politics, Environment, Frustrations.
Then when someone clicks on one of those grid topics it will take them to a page that is in standard blog form with a menu bar on the right.
Can you help me with this. I choose this theme as it looked like I could do this with it. But I can’t find how to get this done.
Thank you!

The Grid Page Template displays all child pages of the page in a grid format. So, if you make a set of Child pages under that “about” page, they will show up in the grid.

I can’t anything that says child. I have tried putting the subpages under the main page and I chose grid as the template. But that didn’t work. I don’t see how to make them children.
Please be more specific in instructions. I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks

Can you give me an example of a specific subpage that you want there? Then I can use it as an example for instructions.

If you look at the example they give you under themes, I want my home page to look like that. Photos with a word under it. Then when you click on the photo/word, you go to a page that is a standard blog page.

No, I meant, what is an example of a page you have made that you would like to have set as a child page. I see you have education, health, inequality all as page drafts. Is one of those a page that you want to appear in the grid?

rootjosh gave you the link to the Page Attributes support page. The information provided there is what you are missing w.r.t creating page relationships. You create the page relationships at the Page Attributes by either assigning a parent to each page which you regard as a subpage of that parent. For a grid page, you have one parent page and X (a variable number of) children.
If you look at the example they give you under themes, I want my home page to look like that. Photos with a word under it. Then when you click on the photo/word, you go to a page that is a standard blog page.
Each photo link is a featured image assigned to a grid child page, using the “Featured Image” module found in the page editor, in the right margin by default. If you don’t find it, you might have to enable the display of the module at Screen Options (top of the page). I think the “word” you refer to is the title of the child page, but this can of course be multiple words. Below the title will be the text content of the page, if it is short enough, or an excerpt taken from the beginning of the page text content if is longer.
