Help with getting an existing domain

    Hi, I would really like to have fleetingbliss.wordpress.com as my website but I see that it has already been claimed.

    The only post on that account was from 2012 so I was wondering if I could somehow ask the owner to delete their site so I can use it.

    Thank you for any advice you could give me.

    Hi sephsk,

    That’s right — fleetingbliss.wordpress.com is owned by another WordPress.com account so the address is unavailable.

    I was wondering if I could somehow ask the owner to delete their site so I can use it.

    We cannot change ownership of a site even if it has been a while since the owner last updated it. You could try contacting them to ask whether they would be interested in transferring ownership to you.

    Deleting a site means the address will be unavailable for use in the future so if you do get in touch, it’s best not to suggest this. It would be better for the owner to empty their site and transfer ownership to your account — this will be their decision though.
