help with layout
-
Hi I’m new here. Setting up an arts blog covering fine arts in five different areas of the city. I know what I want to do, know (sort of ) how it should look but just very confused about how to get there. Anyone can help me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not without more information. Please follow the suggestions in this thread when asking a question in the forums: it will save you time.

for Auxclass: thanks
for Raincoaster: Thanks also.
My idea is to set up an on-line magazine of different arts activities in Montreal
with a great banner pic
a covering article
and a number of different sections
that talk about different parts of the city and
different kinds of arts happenings.Something that has lots of room to move in and add info to.
Hope that is clearer
I’m looking at Pilcrow as a theme/layout to use. Think that will serve my purposes??
Thanks for your help everyone. .

If you want to do significant theme hacking, I suggest you get an independent install and use WordPress.ORG instead of hosting at WordPress.COM. The blogs here are optimized for blogging, not for tinkering.
I would use Inuit Types, actually. See how TT has it working on her blog http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com

You can view Themes on the Themes Showcase. Its a live demo site and there is a search function for filtering features there. Here’s the entry for Inuit Types > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/inuit-types/But I do agree with raincaoster:
