    How do I delete my site successfully BCS I am getting a message that users cannot delete the jet pack site via API?

    Hey there @humanresources791744144, are you trying to delete the entire site, or disconnect from Jetpack?

    If you want to delete everything, I’d log into the site at wp-admin, disconnect Jetpack, then work with your host for deletion. I’d recommend making a backup beforehand, just in case your change your mind.

    Yes, I am trying to delete the entire site.
    My jetpack is already disconnected but not deleted.

    When I click on delete my site permanently it does not work and I get a message as ” User cannot delete Jetpack site via API”

    Pls kindly advise.

    I can remove the site from your account here.

    If that’s what you want, the only site I see under your account is www.liverestaurant.co.uk so just to be sure, is it that one?

    If you want https://www.liverestaurant.co.uk to be fully removed from the internet, that is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    If so, you’ll need to contact your hosting provider about that.

    Yes that the one.

    I do not want liverestaurant.co.uk to be removed from the “internet” the domain name is still active on the Zoho site and hosted.

    I never managed to delete my WP.com, the system did not let me 6 months ago when I left to Zoho site.

    I now have a hacked URL on my google console from my previous WP site and need to delete it permanently as well as my jetpack, please.

    Just to confirm, you have permanently and successfully deleted the site, right?

    It is permanently removed from your account here, including any connected Jetpack bits. If Jetpack is still installed on the site, you’ll need to remove that on your end.

    Not sure to follow re jetpack.
    If you have permanently deleted the site with Jetpack attached to it, will both not be permanently deleted?

    And what was the message about ” User cannot delete Jetpack site via API” when I was trying to delete the site permanently?

    Should I have reconnected to jetpack to then delete jetpack to then delete the site permently?

    Jetpack is WordPress plugin which connects a self-hosted WordPress.org site to a WordPress.com account so that you can use already-built-in WordPress.com features.

    We don’t have any control over the WordPress.org site itself or the plugin’s installation.

    What I have done is removed the connection between your WordPress.com account and Jetpack, which is the most we can do here.

    Where exactly are you seeing this error message?

    Top right corner with a red exclamation mark when I was trying to delete unsuccessfully the site.

    Well I don’t have this option anymore to delete my site but I have the option to delete my account, should I delete my account too? I might as well.

    If I want to come back I’ll just create a new one, right?
