HIJACKED ACCOUNT??

Hello!
Some time ago (ie. 2 years or more) I created a WordPress account and then forgot about it. Well, not exactly forgot about it but life happened and I didn’t bother doing anything with it the way I had intended to originally. Fast forward to the present, I decided to once again have a go creating the blog of my dreams when I’ve forgotten my password. I tried resetting it but I have not received any notifications in my emails to reset. I then went about creating a new account thinking that perhaps my old one was deleted, however upon the completion of said new account I then noticed that WordPress would not allow me to name my account the way I wanted to. It put a ‘com’ at the end of my account name as in namecom.wordpress.com. This led me to believe that there was already an existing account with my name (my old account) however, when I googled my original account name and found it, there was an about page that I had not created. Could it have been hijacked?
Is there any way that I can find out if this was my old account?

Hi there, the https://theliberatedhousewife.wordpress.com/ site is on the housewife50 account, if that is the one that you are talking about?
I’m not seeing any recent password reset attempts on that account, so you may want to log out of this new account and go to https://theliberatedhousewife.wordpress.com/wp-login.php and use the password reset link.
Once you do, check the spam filter on the email account that you think you used to set that up as sometimes it may get marked as spam.
