Hit counter in the sidebar
-
I want to add a hit counter in the sidebar or somewhere in my blog. I added the hit counter widget in the left sidebar. The setting say it will display for 60sec but it does not disapper at all. My list of pages & categories in the left sidebar are replaced with the hit counter which does not dissapear after 60sec. 60 sec is too long anyway, I’d want it to disappear after 10sec max so that my list of pages & categories would re-appear. Is there any way of doing this or can I put my hit counter somewhere else in the blog? Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. You’ve got a misunderstanding. The widget says “Hit counter is delayed by up to 60 seconds”, that is, it may take up to a minute to reflect the latest hits. The counter never disappears from the sidebar.
2. When you haven’t added any widgets yourself, the theme displays its own small set of artificially generated sidebar items. Once you add any widget, the preset goes: if you want your pages, categories etc. back after you add the counter, you just have to add those widgets too.
3. If you prefer an invisible counter, you can open an account in Statcounter or Sitemeter, select the invisible option, and paste the code you’ll get from there into a text widget. Make sure you get the plain html code, not the javascript one.
